A neurological disorder which leads to a motor defect such as paralysis of a limb or any part of the body is a neuromotor disorder. They could occur at any age.  Causes include :

• Cerebral palsy (here the motor defect is due to a static cerebral or brain disorder)
• Stroke
• Central nervous system infections
• Degenerative brain disorders
• Head injury
• Disorders of spinal cord
• Disorders of peripheral nerves
