About Dr Rashmi Kumar
Dr. Rashmi Kumar is retired professor and head of department of pediatrics at king Georges’ medical university, Lucknow.
After graduating and completing MD Pediatrics from all India institute of medical sciences, new Delhi and working 3 years in united kingdom, she joined and served at king Georges’ medical university, Lucknow for 35 years.
She developed the pediatric neurology unit in the department of pediatrics and brought up the specialty of child neurology in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Most of her teachings, research and patients care centered on pediatric neurology. she was also president, Association of child neurology India for 2 years and president Lucknow Academy of pediatrics.

- Till her retirement in July 2019, she ran a busy Pediatric Neurology Clinic every week.
- Her special interests are infectious disorders of the brain, epilepsy and cerebral palsy.
- She was President of the Association of Child Neurology 2015-16.
- She has conducted over 13 major research projects as Principal Investigator on neurological problems in children.
- She has won 2 national awards from the Indian Council of Medical Research.
- Her research and clinical work is recognized by scientific bodies – National Academy of Science, India and National Academy of Medical Sciences.
